The Bitter Southerner

The Bitter Southerner

Every now and then a blog comes along that stops you dead in your tracks. Whether it be eloquent writing, gorgeous photography or professional video – there’s something that makes a site tick, and it’s rare that a site hits all of those marks. The Bitter Southerner is definitely one of those sites. It’s a team effort, with professional writers, photographers and video folks, and they’re in love with the South. It’s not all you can eat, but they promise to bring us stories from the South each Tuesday, and today they’re featuring one of my favorite bartenders and restaurateurs Jerry Slater of H. Harper Station. Past Bitter Tuesdays have featured fellow Yankee turned Southerner Greg Best of Holeman & Finch and an essay by Patterson Hood. Recently one of my favorite online magazines, Bearings Guide, which also championed beautiful photography, took a hiatus (come back soon, y’all!) so I’m happy to see BS fill that void and then some.
